CORPO:REALITY – Body and Embodiment in AI and Robotics Conference
Dr. Kate Ott provided a plenary lecture at the conference. Her proposal requires that people, especially those who claim to be Christian, accept that God’s preferential option for humans (or some humans) was and maybe still is our demise. Neighbor love needs to be premised on a wider, more inclusive understanding of neighbor – including (and to some extent in response to) the figure of the ArchAndriod and her cyborg kin. Companion technologies and robots, to different degrees, are already here. People are already interacting with them. What sexual ethic we bring to the design, development and use of these technologies will directly relate to their moral impact on people and the planet.
